Emily Hirsh:

Hello, my friends. Welcome back to the podcast. We are in November. It’s election week here in the US and I am very intentional about the noise from that and the distractions. I have this thing called a brick. Yeah, and it’s super cool. You can scan your phone with this brick and it will, you can set different modes and it will lock you out of apps and you have to scan the little device again to get back in. And so today, tomorrow, this week, I’m going to be off social during the day. Because of the noise from the election, I am of course going to go vote, but that is all I can do, right? I can just vote and we can only control that. And I think just with social media and the media in general, there’s just a lot of noise and fear mongering and it really doesn’t do anything for us and our business today. So.

Anyways, it is going to be a big week in the US and I’m practicing, surrendering, surrendering the outcome and hoping for the best. So today’s podcast episode, I wanted to give you guys some inspiration on some strategies that you could implement between now and the end of the year. We have two months left in the year and I think a huge mistake that people make is they kind of see the end of the year as a time where like nobody’s going to buy and it’s the holidays and it’s time to slow down and you start to get this mentality of like, I’ll just wait till January. And I think it’s kind of the same thing when you like fall off a workout program in the middle of the week and you’re like, I’ll just wait till Monday. It’s like in reality, if you actually implement and continue to work out you know in a week when you fall off a workout program, that’s better than just waiting until Monday. Same with in business, you may have more going on and there may there may be more noise this time of year, but there’s also a lot of opportunity. So 100% hurts your business to look at it as, I’ll just wait till January to do that and put things off. And I think that We do this because we want this like fresh start new year energy, which is awesome. But there’s a lot of opportunity because during the holiday season and during the end of the year, almost everybody’s audiences have unique situations and experiences that they’re going through that bring up or highlight certain frustration, pain, desire, and in marketing and in business.

We are just trying to connect to that. So with this, here are some ideas of what you can do. And I think you can also do all of these things or some of these things and still have an amazing holiday season with your family and be present. I don’t think it’s one or the other. So this is intended to just give you some fresh ideas. First of all, before I dive into the four specific things, this is a thread throughout all of this. This is something that we do with clients and that I often talk about, which is seasonal messaging and seasonal marketing. So I think that with every season, so going into the holiday season, and then we’ve got the new year season and the, you know, spring and summer with every season, there are different emotions and experiences that people usually go through. And we’re very seasonal creatures. And so as a season changes, so does oftentimes our lifestyle. So does what we’re focused on. And again, the pain, frustration and desire might shift or one might be highlighted more than another. And so that’s an opportunity in marketing to create a deeper connection based on the season.

So what I encourage everybody to do is really think about during the holiday season, during these next couple of months, what is my ideal customer going to experience more or less of? And how can I serve and support them as they go through that? And now these ideas I’m bringing can be paired with seasonal messaging and seasonal marketing. And this can be as small as a specific version of ad copy that you write that relates to what they’re going through during this season. Or it could be as big as an entire live launch planned around this problem. So it can be as small as a little way that you connect through a piece of content or an actual experience that you create or a bonus that you have for your paid offer. So just be thinking about that as I lay out these strategies because it relates to all of them.

So the first one is do a live launch and this one is maybe a given maybe not but I think that the beginning of November and the beginning of December like beginning to mid of both of these months are really great opportunities to create some sort of live experience. And I would be thinking about what is maybe a specific live experience that you could create for your audience that’s related to this time of year. So for example, planning, planning their new year. That’s a great one that a lot of people can use. Everybody wants to plan out their goals, plan out their new year. Now that may not go with your business but that’s a great example. Another one might be so for example I have a client who supports people with their type 2 diabetes and she has a regular launch but when we do her launch in November it’s strategically right after Thanksgiving to help people lower their blood sugar after Thanksgiving before Christmas And so it’s actually the same launch that she normally does, but the messaging is going to be targeted to what her ideal customer is going through right then, which is I just ate a ton of food and Thanksgiving. I feel bad. I have a little bit of time between now and Christmas and the holidays. I want to feel better. I want to make sure my blood sugar is okay. And so participate in this challenge. So in that case, we’re actually taking an already existing formatted challenge, but we’re changing and refreshing some of the front end messaging to be more relevant. Regardless, it’s a live launch. It’s a live experience. So beginning to November to mid, you know, before Thanksgiving, same thing in December are great times to be creating an experience. You can either use an experience that you’ve done in the past and with some fresh messaging, fresh messaging around what the seasons.

The seasonal pain, frustration, desire, emotions might be bringing up, or you could do a specifically targeted launch that is relevant to right now. like I will do a planning your marketing strategy live launch in December. We did that last year. It was super successful. We’re going to do it again this year because that’s really relevant for you guys in December. So that’s number one. Number two is let’s generate some cash before the end of the year, have a promotion, have a flash sale. You can do both. You can do a live launch and you can do this. Like it’s possible with how much time is left, but this is a way for you to take all of the warm traffic that you have built up until now. And all of the audiences, the emails, the people following you on social, all those people that have engaged with your brand this year and capitalize on it. Do a 10% off sale, add in an extra bonus if they buy your offer and do like a two, three day push promotion to your existing offer. You will get sales, you will get a cash infusion, you will have people who have sat on the fence and haven’t bought and have thought about it and they’re going to take the plunge.

I see a lot of people in December, especially if you’re in B2B business owners, they want to spend money in December because of tax write-offs. So actually December is a really great month for a lot of my clients and even myself because there’s a lot of people that are buying things to prepare for January. So run some sort of flash sale. Promote could be for Black Friday. It could be an end of the year sale. It could be a holiday sale. like People are consuming in November and December. They are buying. This is the time of the year that people actually want to spend money. And if you strategically position your offer and make it a no brainer and make it a clear next step for somebody to solve their problems, fulfill their desire and serve them, then that will support your sales. So this is a great thing to do to get some extra cash in the door before the end of the year. Third idea is a very simple one, but also very strategic to do before the end of the year to nurture. So this is more so a nurture strategy, but also leads to sales. So I would actually do this one. If you’re going to do a promo slash flash sale or a live launch, I would do this one first leading up to either your live launch or your promotion, which is a content series. I love doing these. You guys have probably seen me do these on the podcast several times throughout the year, but I will just throw out some extra podcast episodes and so and sync together four or five podcast episodes that all go together in a series. And it’s just a content series. And you can do this either with a podcast. You could do this with video. You could do this on Instagram with reels. You could have you know, X part series where you’re teaching something, you’re teaching the mistakes, you’re teaching the truth, you’re teaching something that all goes together.

Now we’re also bringing it back to the seasonal messaging. What is something content wise that your audience would benefit from this time of year? Is it reflecting on the past year and what they want to improve on? Is it shifting, you know, setting goals? Is it setting themselves up for the new year? Whether that be their health or relationships, their business. So think about this time of year. And then what is a very simple content series that you could put together? Don’t over complicate this. This is not like a 10 hour piece of work thing for you to do. This is you’re likely already creating content. Let’s put some strategy behind it and make a content series that you can put either on a a platform such as your podcast or your social media. You could simply make a handful of reels that you release between now and the end of the year. That is a series, a content series. And of course, this will build your audience. It will also nurture your audience that you already have and just create that extra connection because I guarantee you if you focus on the seasonal messaging, and you align your content in your live launches in your promotions and all of your messaging around what your audience is going through right now. It’s going to be more relevant than the other things that they’re seeing and therefore they’ll pay attention to it. It doesn’t mean, let me clarify that this doesn’t mean everything is seasonal messaging. like you’re It’s probably 10 to 15% of what you do becomes that you know relevant seasonal messaging. And then you may have a live launch that’s very focused on that. But it doesn’t mean all you talk about is the holidays or the new year. You’re just incorporating this into what you are already doing to better connect with your ideal customer, to better connect with your audience. So a content series, keep it really simple.

Think about what would serve your audience right now and also think about what would be a good lead up to something like a live launch or something like a promotion or just helping build the authority of your offer. So think about the core problem or the core desire that you fulfill as a business and make sure your content series is aligned with that and correlated with that. okay The fourth strategy for you to finish out this year strong is really important and I think something everybody should have and be doing, which is making sure you have some sort of automated or evergreen funnel that is bringing leads in every day and that you have that dialed in before going into the new year. Ideally you’re bringing the leads in now but you may have to build this you may have to create this because here’s the thing right now in this current economy and this current you you know world industry whatever. People are taking a longer time to buy which means the leads that you generate right now.

In november are likely your buyers in january february and march because on average i’m seeing three to six months that someone takes from when they first become a lead to when they become a sale obviously that’s not everybody you’re gonna have a percentage of your buyers who are right away. They’re the fast decision makers. But you’re also going to have a large percentage, probably more than half, who sit around for a while before they buy. I just had someone buy from our company and sign up for our expand program who has followed me for nine years. Nine years. I thought that was incredible. like What a testament to consistency. But what I want to really get across here is what you do this month in November is going to impact you already in 2025, which is why if you say, I’m going to do nothing. I’m going to wait until the new year. I’m not going to build my list. I’m not going to build my audience. I’m not going to put daily effort into that growth. Then that will hurt you and you will feel it in the new year.

So having some sort of simple lead generation funnel dialed in going into the new year where you can get leads, bring them onto your list and nurture them and yes, send them to your offer, but more important, is the consistency. It’s bringing the leads onto your list every day so that they can be the ones you invite into your live launch that you promote to. Maybe you can plan an epic live launch for the very beginning of January too, but you want to build your list between now and then. It always, always pays off to build your list and build your audience. So if you don’t have a strategy for that right now, that is something very important for you to have in place ASAP.

Now I want to mention if you’re like, what should my lead generation be? I don’t have this yet. I don’t have the capacity to plan this and I’m overwhelmed with all of these things and all these things I can be doing. We create strategies for you in both of the ways that we work with business owners. And I sent out a video last week that showed the behind the scenes of how we create strategies because it’s so in-depth and so customized to the point where you’re handed an entire blueprint of your funnel strategy, your live launches, your email marketing, like pages of planning out your email marketing, your messaging strategy, auditing your offer, all of it. And we do that and we are done for you, of course, but also are done with you. So if you’re already thinking about, I could use someone to plan all this for me, whether it be now or for the new year. Take the action on it now because there’s always that delayed reaction of having to get things in place. And you don’t want to wait until it’s so urgent you need it today, which some of you may be there right now. You want to take the action now and as proactive as possible.

Alright everybody, talk to you on Thursday.
