Emily Hirsh:
Hi, guys. Hello and welcome back to the podcast. I have been feeling so many things, so hopeful and excited and grateful this morning, the day after the U.S. election. And I don’t talk very much about politics, and I’m not going to really talk about politics right now, but I think this is just so big. And you know I know not everybody agrees and I don’t agree with the divisive nature and society that has happened that I 100% blame on the mainstream media. But I, you know, over the last eight years have not felt like I can share very much about my views, especially four plus years ago because cancel culture was so strong from the left and and the mainstream media. And I’m more and more comfortable in a loving way sharing my views.
And I am so hopeful and grateful for the outcome of this election. I am honestly emotional seeing the amount of people in the United States who have woken up to the corruption, the corruption in our food industry, the corruption in all of the government, in the wars, all of it. And, you know, this election was definitely the most important in my life. And it may be the most important in my entire life. I think it was such a pivotal election in that the mainstream media will never go back to what it was. And this agenda that I think has been at play for years, the people said, no more. We’re done. And there’s a map and that shows the swing of the vote from blue to red this election. And to me, that’s the most incredible part of this is that people woke up. I’m most excited for RFK and what he’s going to do to our health, the business of health, the business of sickness in this country and big pharma and all of the corruption. Like it is so messed up. You spend 15 minutes going into that and you realize how bad it is. And so that alone is huge.
And I also feel such a gratitude and understanding that, you know, the last four years, I believe, had to happen in order for things to get so bad in our economy and our country had to get where it was for people to wake up. And also, you know Trump didn’t have this team that he has going into this term with RFK and Elon, Tulsi Gabbard, and and the support that he has that goes beyond him. So I know that this will probably upset some people to hear my views, and I hope that you can separate the emotion from it to and understanding that my views come from a place still of love. I think that the you know Republican side gets labeled as is one that doesn’t really care about things. And my views 100% come from a place of love and compassion and also a lot of research. like I do know what my views are and they don’t come from the mainstream media. They don’t come from group think. They come from really truly going to the source and understanding what’s going on. and I think that’s what a lot of people have done and have woken up. And it’s so incredible to witness. I’m very excited for the next four years because I don’t think things can ever return to the corruption that they were. So I feel the need to be able to share that.
And again, I know some people are not going to agree with me. And if that triggers you so much that you feel like you have to you know unfollow somebody, I would just look at that because I don’t think we have to be that divided. I think that we can actually all get to a pretty common ground. The division is coming from an agenda in the mainstream media, not the actual people behind the opinions. Anyways, it’s a it’s an may amazing day in the U.S. today. I am going to pivot and we’re going to talk about marketing. And I would like to talk about three easy shifts and strategies that you can implement to generate more sales with your marketing without actually doing more. I think that’s a really important and strong need right now is overwhelm is at an all-time high when we go into the holiday season and the end of the year and all the things that come with that on top of running a business. So a few of these were inspired by advice that I gave to some people that I coach and conversations with my team. And they’re honestly really simple and will get results and help improve your marketing while also not making it so you have to do a bunch of things and and spin on that hamster wheel. So the first one is a strategy, but also just like a reminder. And this came up when I was on a mastermind call recently with one of the girls, which is how we think that we have to constantly reinvent the wheel, especially with our content.
And I think when you are a content creator and and you have like your core methods, your core process and and what you you know teach, I think that it feels like you are saying the same thing over and over again and that comes into your content creation in the form of overwhelm because you feel like you constantly have to reinvent the wheel. And I think just remembering that it is okay to talk about the same things and even repurposing content. And I was having this conversation with one of the girls because I was like, honestly, if you look back on a previous launch or a year ago, your social media posts, do you even remember what it said? Like you probably don’t. I know I wouldn’t, right? And so the chance of someone getting an email that’s similar to an email you sent out four or five months ago it is like 0%. They’re not going to be like, oh, I got this email last year in July and now you’re resending it to me. and I just think we forget that people are so wrapped up in their own world that they do not remember the level of detail that you think they do about the content that you put out. Email, social media, any of that form of content. And so number one, it’s okay to repeat things. It is okay to talk about the same things and repurpose your content in all different ways. So for example, if you’ve done a live launch before and you have emails that you’ve sent out and you have data on those, you can go back and you can look at the emails with the highest open rate and the highest click-through rates and just reuse them.
Like that is okay to do or maybe update them like 10, 15%, improve them a little bit, but just reuse them. Or let’s say you go back to your social media five, six months ago and you’ve got posts that did really well and reels that converted really well. You can repost them and nobody is probably going to notice. Now, do I think you should do this with 100% of what you create? No. But I also think that in terms of what you talk about, like your beliefs, your methods, your process, the you know top points that you make or pillars that you have when it comes to your content and what you talk about in your niche, it is going to feel repetitive to you because you’re talking about it all the time. But the person consuming it in your audience, first of all, they are not seeing everything you put out. Very, very small percentage of your audience, like I would guess less than 5%, and that’s even generous, is going to see everything you put out, every email, every post, every video. like Those are your super, super fans and you will have some of those, but 95% plus of people are not going to see all that stuff. So to you, it’s like, oh, I just said this or I’ve said this three times or I’m talking about this a lot. This feels really repetitive. I have to constantly reinvent the wheel. But we should all have our core processes, methods, beliefs, and values that are repeated throughout our content. There’s a saying that I love that says, leadership is saying the same thing over and over again and over and over again until the last person in the room gets it. And I think we so often forget that a lot of our job as leaders, as content creators and people who are here to have an impact and use their expertise and their wisdom and their methods and process to make a difference, it is a lot of repetition and reminding people.
And there is a handful of things that you’re going to say over and over and over again and still people aren’t going to get it. So this is just your permission to to remember this and to try to make it easier on yourself a little bit with the volume of content and copy that we all feel that we have to create and just see if there’s an opportunity to reuse or repurpose some things. Again, I am not saying to do this with everything. I think that would be a mistake and I think people would recognize that. But I think that we can do this more than we think because we constantly try to reinvent the wheel. And really what we should be doing is evolving, is taking what we’ve been doing and evolving it and improving it, not reinventing it. Because as you build a successful foundation, you can continue to build on top of that and go, okay, I did these five things and these two things worked and so let me do those two things again plus three more things that are similar to that or play off of that angle or that emotion, right? So that’s the first thing. That’s an easy shift, an easy reminder that we probably and you probably are making this harder on yourself than you need to because that’s what we do as entrepreneurs. Number two, this kind of plays off of this, but I think this is also a great reminder. I think that because we make this subconscious assumption that people see everything that we put out, that they are afraid to sell. and They’re afraid to sell too much. And I see this happen a lot where entrepreneurs and business owners bring in leads, they grow their audience, they bring in these quality people into their audience, and then they are afraid to sell to them.
And they’re like, well, I already did it. You know, 10 days ago, I asked for a sale or I sent out a sales email. And it’s like, yeah, but how many people open that email, have forgotten about that email and read it and didn’t do anything about it? It doesn’t mean that you can’t work in constant conversation around your offer and not being afraid to do that in an obviously an authentic way and not like a billboard I’m constantly just selling in terms of telling you what my offer is. But when you have an offer that you genuinely believe will change the life of your ideal customer and make the impact and get the result that it is made to to get and you created it to get that outcome. When you believe that and you are fully bought into that, then selling becomes serving. Selling becomes the more I tell people about my offer, the more I share the results and the outcome that I can get, the more I can support people, the more that I can serve them, change their lives, have my impact. And so I need to talk about it. And most of the time when I hear someone say, I’m afraid to sell too much, they don’t talk about their offer enough. It’s very rarely that I hear someone say that and they’re like sending sales emails every single day. I think that you can typically sell and talk about your offer more than you think you can. And what this looks like is just looking at the emails that you send out to your list, the posts and the content you put out on social media, even if you have a podcast. like I will weave in my offer into this podcast whenever it’s relevant.
I’m not afraid of talking about it too much. I will weave in our offer into a podcast email or a content email while also still delivering value. I think you do have to follow like an 80-20 rule where 80% of the time you are delivering value. You are showing up to serve in a non-strings attached way, which could look like a free webinar, content, valuable emails, and then 20% of the time you’re selling. But I think that you can be weaving it in throughout very naturally because your offer is something that you want people to know about. So don’t be afraid to talk about it. Like it’s not something to be ashamed of when you fully believe in the impact it can have. So from a strategic standpoint, what you can do is look at how often do I talk about my offer or how often do I talk about the results that my offer gets? How often do I brag on a testimonial I got or a story about someone who told me XYZ changed their life or made this impact on them from my offer? like Share those things. Shout those things out. People want to hear that. They want to hear the wins. That positive energy is magnetic. Don’t feel bad about talking about that and make your sales conversation and language
very very conversational and authentic and from a place of serving ok the third shift slash strategy is pausing to make sure that you’ve given yourself the space and the capacity and the time to bring depth in what you’re doing versus width in the volume. And I think it’s really easy to fall in this trap of overwhelm and the need to do more, more, more, more, more, because that is the noise online. and You need to be on more platforms. You need to be producing more content. You need to be doing more live launches. You need to launch more funnels. You need to have more offers. And it’s not that sometimes that advice isn’t correct or relevant for you, but sometimes it’s not relevant. And sometimes we use chasing more to sacrifice the depth and sacrifice the quality. So what I mean by this is if you were to take inventory of like, here’s everything I’m doing to grow my business. I am sending out emails, I’m posting on social media. I have a lead generation funnel. I do a live webinar. Just throwing stuff out there. If you were to take inventory of all that and ask yourself, what of those things has fallen into a, I’m just doing it to do it and I’m not really thinking with creativity or innovation or allowing myself the space to pause and just like pour into that initiative a little bit more and see how I could just up level it 5%, 10%.
I believe that there’s a constant dance of doing enough and in making sure that you have enough initiatives happening to grow your business, but also making sure that what you are doing is infused with creativity, innovation, authenticity, and is thought through. And it’s intentional. And I think that’s the difference is when you make the goal to just do to do, to check boxes, to post five times a week, to email twice a week, to have a lead gen funnel, and you forget the intention behind it and why you’re doing it, I think it’s easy to lose sight of having the depth and the quality that can be within it. And you don’t want to go extreme to the other side where you’re spending you’re a perfectionist and you’re trying to overcompensate and you only do one thing a month because you spend so much time on it. There’s definitely a dance here. But I think for a lot of entrepreneurs who are constantly going, going, going and really thrive off of that, I’m one of them. We sometimes need the permission to pause and the permission to take inventory of what we’re doing and say, okay, if I actually did a little bit less, but I took that energy and that effort that I was putting into all these things and I cut 10% of what I’m doing, but then I put that energy into doing it better, what would that do?
So this is your permission to look at what you’re doing, take inventory of what you’re doing and ask yourself, if I put a little bit more creativity, a little bit more thought, if I gave myself permission to just sit here and think, how could I make this better? How could I make my funnel better, my customer journey, my social media strategy, my nurture strategy for my leads, my sales page? How could I sit and just focus on the one thing that I think is going to move the needle more and put some depth into it and bring some fresh angles, fresh creativity, and really put that effort into it? And I think for me, what I’ve done is I’ve built team members around me that help me do this and they compliment me in this way where I’m very big visionary ideas. I have no shortage of ideas and can move really fast on them, which is needed. And then sometimes I need a team member to go, we need a few days to do this well. Like we could do it today. We could do it by tomorrow, but we need a few days to do this well. And so let’s talk this out. Let’s bring some depth to this. And having that has helped me a lot. um And that’s also what, you know, I have my team do with clients because you can get clients who have a million ideas. They’re visionaries. They have so much, but it can get lost in doing a few things really, really well. So those are my three easy shifts, easy strategies that will help you generate more sales, hopefully without more overwhelm and actually having to do more. it’s really just a refinement of what you’re already doing all right everybody have a beautiful rest of your day and i will talk to you guys next week
