Emily Hirsh:
Hello, my friends. Welcome back to the podcast. I hope you guys are off to a fabulous start to your week. This is a big week for me. We have embodied marketing live happening here this week, Thursday through Saturday is the VIP day. I am so excited, a little nervous, like a natural nervous. I think anytime you care a lot about what you’re doing and you’ve got people flying in from literally out of the country to come to this event, I just want it to be incredible. I know it’s going to be incredible, but I find myself at night falling asleep, not able to fully fall asleep because my brain is just going. But I realized last night I was laying in bed. I don’t know if anybody does this to their husband slash partner, but he’s clearly like almost asleep and I’m like, are you awake? I need to tell you something.
And it was like 25 minutes after I was trying to fall asleep and I was like, I just need to surrender. Like all of my thoughts come from me trying to control every piece of the week versus trust that whatever lands in front of me, I’m going to respond exactly how I should and how I want to, which I know. And so I was like, that’s where this is coming from. It’s like this tight grip, but you can’t, if you’ve ever hosted a live event, you know, there are so many details and so many things to consider that when you let your brain start thinking through everything and you’re trying to control and remember every single thing and like respond exactly quote, perfect, you have to pause that surrender that and trust that when something happens or when it gets to that time, you’re going to respond perfectly. And I do trust that. And my events are very, I structure them, but they’re also, there’s a flow to them that picks up on the energy and the way people are, you know, responding and what the themes are.
And I think the group dictates a lot. And so you actually want to not be in like a very rigid place going into a live event. And I learned this from mentors that I went to their retreats and events from. So anyways, that’s my focus this week is like just surrender, just trust, like you’ve done the preparations, you’ve got the team there to support you. It is going to be amazing and just surrender. So I am so excited though. Live events are my absolute favorite thing. The transformation is just incredible and I can’t wait. I want to share on here and make sure you guys are all aware because we’re almost halfway through January already. What in the heck?
I currently have applications open to the mastermind, my Elevate mastermind. So that only happens every six months and I only take a max of six women in this group. And I can’t stress enough how powerful this experience is. You have me one-on-one for six months as if your business was my own. Like some examples, last week we had our mastermind call for this current round.
I spent an hour on that call with one of the women going through every single slide of her webinar pitch. I have done hundreds of webinars myself. I have my own version of a pitch. It’s not Russell Brunson’s. It’s not some templated thing. It is literally from hundreds of webinars and millions of dollars from those webinars and I was able to transfer that strategy and that wisdom to her in an hour and she’s gonna she has this webinar she’s updating her current webinar it will go on to make millions of dollars like you can’t understand how one call in one week of the six months could literally make you so much money i had one of the women last round on there talking about her refund policy wasn’t even asking me advice on changing it and I paused and I questioned it and I was like, hold on, look at how much that’s costing you every month. She’s changed her refund policy and it literally saves her eight grand a month.
Just that one single change on a one single call ten minutes in the call that she never would have seen had I not done that that’s the power of mentorship of deep level mentorship which to be honest with you it’s hard to find these days because you go into these groups that have so many people and there isn’t that depth.
So Elevate is weekly coaching calls, unlimited texting, there’s a three-day all-inclusive luxury retreat included, plus some one-on-one calls with me. So if you go to embodiedmarketing.com/elevate, you can see more information about it and you can fill out your application. I personally review and reach out to every single one because I obviously really curate the group, but I want to make sure for sure that I can help you and I can make back way more than your investment in this. So, all right.
This episode is inspired by a conversation to conversations I had with a friend and last week and then a conversation I just had with my team. And it stemmed from the question of, we have our Done With You program expand and I met with the team and we were talking about how to make sure the members get quick wins and make sales as fast as possible. And with this Done With You program, a lot of times the business owners that come into it because of the type of program it is, the investment, it’s not quite ready for, they’re not ready for Gen 4U and that level of service and that level and of investment in their business.
So they are oftentimes more newer businesses, haven’t made a ton of sales, and are also doing a lot of the work on their own, so are typically overwhelmed. And that’s actually very challenging to get someone a quick win, when in order to do that, they have to build a whole funnel and write their emails and you know do all that work. And our program obviously supports with all that, but we were talking about how do we get them results faster, basically. And one of the things that came up. And I started talking to the team about is, you know, I think when you go into this, when you’re in this phase of business and you go into executing your strategy, you have to look at it from two parts. You have to look at it from the season of business you’re in and how to get short term wins, how to get a sale or multiple sales and proven offer or proven updated offer as fast as possible while simultaneously building out the strategy that is going to be your long-term strategy and buy you back time because it’s a funnel that runs all the time using ads and brings in leads and sales.
Both can happen at the same time and the season of business you’re in means you have to do that little bit of hustling. So I want to explain what I mean. And I titled this podcast, what do I do if I need fast sales or what to do when you need fast sales? This is how you get fast sales. And the answer is not what most people want to hear.
because it doesn’t sound very fun. And what I told the team is you have to remind them that this is temporary. This is the season of business they are in. And so if the outcome they want is fast sales, this is how you do it. It’s not sexy, but it works.
First things first is in our strategy call with these businesses, we do a lot of work around their messaging and their offer positioning. And I said this on the call and my team agreed. I said probably 95% of the time or more when someone comes into this program and goes into their strategy call, they have a gap big or small when it comes to their offer and their offer positioning.
And if we don’t fix that, nothing’s going to work. So first things first, addressing that. Addressing the offer, addressing how clear the offer communicates, the outcome, the promise, the connection to the pain, the frustration, and the desire ultimately isn’t an irresistible offer. We have a whole process that does that, but also our strategist does it for them and gives them that audit and gives them that messaging, intel, and guidance to improve that. So that’s the first thing. Second thing is most people have some sort of a warm audience, have a handful of social media followers, even if it’s 200, like you have something and have a little bit of an email list. So here’s how you get a quick win.
You go back to the drawing board of your offer. You make your offer and your offer positioning the best it possibly can be and so irresistible at the price you’re charging. Maybe you even do a discount or a bonus one time. This isn’t forever. This is not a forever strategy. This is temporary. This is to get you initial sales and an initial win. You do that and then you go to your existing audience, your email list. I don’t even care if it’s people you know. Like I have had personally sales from people who I met at my coffee shop who go to my CrossFit gym. So you have an audience. You have a community. They open your contacts on your phone. You have ideal customers in there. You go to that audience, your email list, your social following, your network and you put that offer out there.
You send emails, you post it on social media, you make it completely irresistible and you make a reason why they need to buy right now. Discount, bonus, price going up forever. And if you have to, you reach out individually to people. I’m not talking about cold outreach or out of the blue sales DMs, but you connect with somebody, you engage with them, you start a conversation with them and you bring up your offer in a natural way.
This could look like maybe engaging with somebody’s social media content, connecting with them and asking them what they’re struggling with as it relates to the problem you solve. Something that opens the door for potentially a conversation and about your offer. I am telling you all, this works. This will get you sales fast. You can even go, if you have not a big audience and you’re like, well, I barely have anybody, go in Facebook groups, network.
This is how I grew my business in the beginning years, nine years ago. I would go into Facebook groups every single day and I would spend a period of time connecting with people who were asking questions about what I do, actively asking for support about what I do, and over time that built me my client base.
That’s how you get a fast win. And so the conversation I had with my team is when we bring on somebody and to expand, we already do the offer positioning. Are we also making sure that we’re looking for these quick wins and opportunities and encouraging them actually have a whole mini section in expand that teaches the strategy. It has like DM scripts, teaches the whole strategy.
Having them do that while simultaneously now you’ve got, that’s your short-term strategy. That’s going to get you your initial five to 10 sales. And at the same exact time you’re doing that because it really doesn’t take that much time. We’re talking maybe an hour a day, but it’s such a high leverage use of your time in the beginning. This is not forever. It is not scalable, but it will get you those initial sales.
Simultaneously while you’re doing that, you’re building out your longer term strategy, which might look like a lead generation funnel with a nurture email sequence. Maybe it has a webinar. That’s the strategy that you’re going to run every single day. You’re going to get leads into it and you’re going to convert those leads. But as we know, if you’ve ever tried to implement a strategy like that, it can take time.
Not only time to optimize the strategy, yes, sure, but also time to just nurture the leads. Most people don’t come into someone’s world and the first time they ever hear about them, bye. It just doesn’t happen that way. And I think there is this sad misconception and turns into frustration when people don’t get fast results.
And it’s because you’re sold this idea of easy with business the easy button funnels ads it’s the easy button it is not the easy button because if you think about anybody that you’ve bought from unless you’re the rare exception in somebody i’m actually like this where.
If I see somebody who I saw for the first time and I know that they are going to solve my problem, I will actually buy the same day. But I make really fast decisions like that. And it’s very rare that people do that. Most people overthink and question and go back and forth. And they need to be nurtured. And if I look at people who buy from me, some have been on my list for years before they buy. Some are much faster. Depends how they came in. Point being,
If you’re launching a new lead generation funnel with ads and then you’re bringing leads into your list, the next part of the strategy we typically recommend is like 90 days down the road, you do a live launch. You do a live webinar, you go invite all those leads. That’s a proper customer journey. That takes a little bit of time. It also takes work to build it out. You need to be doing that because every business needs a scalable, long-term, sustainable strategy where you’ve got ads, leads, sales happening without you doing any work, that takes time to build though, that takes work to get to that point. So that’s your long-term strategy. Simultaneously, you can have a short-term strategy where you’re making sales through this outreach, through your current network, through your audience, through your leads. So I thought this was a really powerful conversation because one, It’s a realistic expectation of how it works. If you want fast sales, that’s how you get fast sales. It’s not through launching a funnel and then overnight you’re just going to have leads in sales. It does not work that way.
The only time it works that way is if somebody launches a new funnel to their warm audience. If I go out and launch a funnel overnight, it will work, but that’s because my overnight of nine years of building my audience of podcast listeners, email list, social following already trusts me. If you are brand new and you have a small audience, when you go launch it to cold traffic, it’s not going to work overnight. And that’s a beautiful thing and is the reality. And instead of letting that be like, Oh, I shouldn’t do it. No, start today and do it so that that’s not the case for you anymore because you built the worm audience, which can only happen through ads, audience leads coming in.
That’s your long-term strategy. Eventually you won’t have to do the short-term strategy of outreach, but maybe you decide that you do. I pay somebody on my team to do outreach like this still. It is still a part of my strategy to have somebody reaching out to the leads that we bring in on Instagram or email or text because it works. So I’ve scaled it to be not me doing it anymore, but we still do it.
So if you want to make sales really fast, the sales are going to come from your existing network, your existing audience, your existing ideal customers that are already there. And I promise you they are. So before you’re like, no, I don’t have anybody you do. Like I think Hermosy says this in his book, open the contacts on your phone and I bet you’ll find some. So.
There’s my little spiel for the day inspired by my team meeting and I hope it helps you. I think it should bring some reality to what it takes. And it’s like, I know this is a little tough love, but a lot of people say they need and they want sales really fast, but they’re not actually willing to do the work to make that happen. So my question back when somebody says that to me and I tell them this is what’s required and then they don’t do it, is do you really want the sales? Are you really all in? Or do you only want these sales on a conditional factor that it’s easy for you? Because in the beginning it’s not easy. Of any business, of any new thing, that would be like any goal that you set. It’s like I wanna get to that goal but I don’t wanna do work. Doesn’t happen like that. It will get easier over time. Then the bar will raise, right? The goal changes, the the finish line shifts, but that is, that is the way it works. So, all right, everybody have a beautiful rest of your day and I’ll talk to you soon.
