Emily Hirsh:
Hello my friends and welcome back to the podcast. I am recording this after an absolutely incredible event last week. We had Embodied Marketing Live here in Austin. And truly, it was better than anything I could have even planned. It was life changing for every single person in that room. And I’m not just saying that we’ve got all the videos and all the social proof to back it up. It was everything I envisioned of a combination of the tactics, the marketing, and business strategy and all of the things to help make you more money combined with the energetic somatic focus on the person behind the business so it was like this mix of workshops and things I taught interactive things um some somatic like guest expert facilitated workshops we danced we cried and We laughed so hard and everyone came out of it more clear, more excited, way more connected and just ready to hit the ground running with their plan for the year, their personal plan, their business plan, their strategy plan.
And just a renewed sense of clarity and connection back to themselves. It was everything I envisioned and so much more. And seriously, every single person in the room was incredible. Like absolutely incredible people. And to bring them all together and be able to facilitate an experience and and support them is probably my favorite thing I’ve ever done so I am coming off the high of that and By like Sunday afternoon I could feel my body crashing a little bit because when you host an event you don’t really feel tired because you’re like on the Just the energy, the adrenaline from it and then once everybody left and my team left, it was like, okay, the come down and I was sad. It was over. We have decided to do another one in July. So originally I was only going to do this once a year, but my team was there and we’re like, how do we just do more of these? Because let’s just change more lives. This is so rewarding for us and so impactful.
And I also want to keep them intimate. So it was about 30 people, but a couple of people not show up. We sold out the 30 tickets and then we had about four people not show up and so I want to keep it like the 30 to 40 people size. Cause that that’s part of the magic is the intimacy within the group, which allows people to go deep, allows people to be more vulnerable. So we actually have decided to do it July 17 to 19. And pretty soon we will put tickets out at a super discounted rate for like a few days to to grab that. So if you’re on my email list, keep an eye on that. But I wanted to share some takeaways from the event and just me witnessing the event and being in a room with 30 entrepreneurs and obviously having lots of conversations around what they needed support with, what they were struggling with most and and supporting these business owners, both their business and the strategy and the tactics, but also themselves. And so I pulled out six things that stood out to me the most as themes that I think will help you have clarity and kind of get a benefit from my takeaways from the event.
So the first one is tuning out the noise. Like most people came into the event overwhelmed and feeling like there’s so many options, so many things they could be doing, and they just wanted someone to tell them what to do next. And I think that’s a feeling that a lot of entrepreneurs experience is like, I am overwhelmed and therefore I get into a state of paralysis and I don’t know what to do next. And I just want to be told what to do next and know it’s going to work. So tuning out all of the extra noise, focusing in on a few mentors or pieces of support, and then just focus on building and continually bringing yourself back every week, every day. What are the next immediate steps that I need to take without having it all figured out?
I noticed and witnessed that a lot of people would get caught up in like, I need the whole plan. I need the entire year. I need to know exactly how everything fits in. I need to know exactly how it’s going to work. And I need to have that entire plan in order for me to move forward. But really, all you need to know is where you’re going and what the next steps are. And so you just have to constantly bring yourself back to clarity on the next steps because that’s how we move into action. and All of us need to be taking daily action towards our bigger goals. If we just think about our bigger goals but then we don’t break it down clear enough to know what to do next, we’re not going to move towards those goals. so A big focus in our event was getting that clarity on you walk out the door of this event, you go home to work on your business. What exactly is your priority? What offer? What funnel? What strategy? And we customized it for everybody in that room. We had hot seats, you know, workshops, and there were some people where Facebook ads actually weren’t the right fit for their business. And I was able to customize and tell them a different strategy to go and implement because I felt that would move the needle more in their business. And it just spoke to The importance of not customizing and generalizing a strategy and putting it in a template, but also making sure people have clear next steps. So that’s number one.
Number two, this came up over and over and over again which was messaging and the depth behind their messaging. And it’s just a testament and a reminder that this never ends. I talk about messaging all the time. I had multiple conversations and things worked into our workshops around messaging. And and then on the VIP day, I did a specific workshop on messaging and your ideal customer and how to tie in the emotions of your ideal customer to your offer to make it irresistible. And every single person in that room at all various stages of business, we had a seven figure business owner in there. We had people brand new, hadn’t even finished creating their offer. Everyone had some sort of clarity, some sort of evolution in their messaging, which goes to show it’s an ongoing, never-ending process of refining your messaging, meaning your emotional connection to your ideal customer, how you speak, the language that you use, and how you connect all of that to what you offer, whether that’s your free lead gen or your paid offer, connecting that constantly and making that clear and making it simple and making it in their language and speaking in exactly the way they would speak about what they want or what they’re frustrated about. is literally the most important thing in your marketing.
That’s why I taught this on the VIP day. And I taught this simple process of how in a new strategy, when I’m developing a new marketing strategy, I walk through this like four step process every single time that defines the outcome of what I’m creating, the messaging angles in their language and some ways that I read it back to see if it sounds like them and it was so powerful. So if there’s one thing for you to focus on that will move the needle in your business, honestly, it’s your messaging. It’s your communication, your emotional connection, and the language you’re using to try and connect with your ideal customer and ultimately convert them. Third takeaway. Focusing and going all in on one core offer. This came up for several attendees where they had ideas for different tiers or different offers, different types of offers. And they really were like, I want to build all these out. And I found myself in multiple instances giving the feedback and the advice of make sure, and my suggestion is to go all in on one core offer.
Do that for at least the next three to six months. Get that working, get a funnel working towards it, dial in the messaging, dial in the conversion, and then you can add other offers in, but ultimately they should still support your core offer. So you may add in a future offer that supports people who weren’t quite ready for your offer and creates them into ideal customers for that offer or who want to go to the next level. Those are not bad strategies, but if you try and do those at the same exact time as dialing in one core offer, then ultimately you’re going to be scattered.
You’re going to not be able to do things to the same, you know, ability that you could, if you focus selling on one. And I think that every business needs to have one offer that they are known for. It’s like, this is my process baked into an offer that I know you will be successful if you go through it. And then you can build more into your customer journey and your experience based on that. We did another exercise where we pulled out each business’s proprietary process or pillars or just way that they get results. And then we infused that into their marketing. That was so cool. But ultimately that becomes somebody’s core offer. So that was another big takeaway, kept coming up even on the VIP day, people considering Do I do these tiers? Like I want to offer this. I want to be able to serve this person, but really my advice continually was focus go all in on one core offer. Once that’s working, you can add others, but they need to also still support that core offer.
Next one was get louder. I feel like everybody in the room had massive takeaways around how to stand out more. And we did this exercise where we pulled out what their values were as as an individual and as a company and how that translated into their messaging and translated into how they wanted to show up and really dialing in and explaining like you want to attract the right people and you also simultaneously want to repel the people who are not the right fit for you. And being able to do that is really powerful. Being able to step into that version of you where you don’t care what people think and you don’t water down your message because you’re afraid of offending someone or making someone upset or someone just having and something negative to say about you will attract so much more at the same time as repel. And I explained to someone, you know, I was talking about my core values and my company’s values and how that translates into my messaging. And I got several comments that this stood out to people. So I’ll share it. You know, one of my core values is accountability.
This is for myself. This is for my team. This is for people who come into our programs. Like you can’t expect that someone’s going to come save you. Like you have to be willing to do the work and show up and get uncomfortable sometimes and commit to an unwavering dedication to your dreams. And if you do that, I can help you. I can make your dreams a reality, but you’ve got to have that commitment. You’ve got to have that ownership and that accountability.
And I’m very loud about victimhood. I think it’s a massive problem today. And I think it really stops people from being successful. And I explained to the room, I trigger people with that. I absolutely do. Like I hold people accountable and in my messaging, I will trigger people who don’t agree with that. And that is fine with me because those are not my ideal customers. Those are not the people I want in my offer. Those are not people that I even want in my event room, right? And what ends up happening is I have incredible people at my event who are in alignment with these values. And so the people that get upset about what I say, I don’t care because They need to go on their journey. I might not be for them. And so I said this and I shared this with the group and so many people were like, wow, you know, I never really have stood fully into my voice.
And I think the more you do that, that is how you become authentic. And we started the entire event with this really cool activity that pulled out their are values, their company’s values, their mission, and all of these components that make up them. And then then I tied it and I said, everybody talks about authenticity, right? Everybody wants to be more authentic. Everybody wants to stand out. It’s something that’s talked about all the time how do you stand out and be authentic with this with this foundation of understanding your values your voice your messaging your beliefs your mission and then speaking that into everything that you do all right i have two more takeaways the next one is It starts with you. Like, I know this. I knew this going into my event. And it’s part of the reason I designed the experience that I did. I knew that the most transformational part of the event would be the things like the breathwork, would be the workshops that got them really thinking about how they personally showed up, how they took care of themselves, how they prioritize themselves, the beliefs that you have, the thoughts that you have. All of those things dictate your reality.
And who you are as a person and as an entrepreneur is how you’re going to show up to lead your company, to lead a team, to lead your potential clients, your clients. And so it does start with you. The answer is with you. The growth is with you. The complete power is within you. And so this was just a reaffirming experience for me, that continuing to create the environment where entrepreneurs realize how much power they hold in achieving their goals, in making a difference, having their impact, and showing up in that power when they commit to the growth, when they commit to looking in the face, the beliefs they may have had for 30 plus years and choosing to shift those, choosing to get uncomfortable, choosing to evolve. it’s That’s not the easier path. That is absolutely not the easier path. It is easier to stay comfortable in what we’ve always known.
But when you do that and when you’re willing to do that, you never go back because awareness is the first step. And someone at the event asked me, you know, Emily, you talk a lot about like your own growth and the mentors that you’ve had and how working on yourself has grown your business the most. Like, can you speak to that? And I said absolutely because in order for me to have the business I want in the future, I have to become a different version of myself. I have to have higher capacity. I have to shift my beliefs to be able to be that version of me. I have to lead in a different way. I have to evolve my beliefs that currently keep me where I’m at. And so if I work on myself, if I go on my own journey of growth. And I commit to that discomfort and just being present with the things that we try to run from. If I commit to that, everybody benefits. My family, my team, you guys, my customers, my clients, everybody. And one of the things that I look at is like my growth and my self-care is an obligation to my company, to my audience, to my customers. Because if I didn’t work on myself and I didn’t take care of myself, I could not have, I couldn’t host the event with an integrity. Because how would I be able to stand up there and be the best version of myself in that moment that I know how to be and prioritize myself and take care of myself and be within integrity that I’d be able to pour into the people the way I wanted to. I wouldn’t.
It starts with you. If you want to grow your business rapidly, focus on your beliefs, how you show up, how you talk to yourself, how you talk to others, all of that. If you focus on that for a year, your business will explode as a byproduct. I promise you. All right. Last takeaway. This is my personal takeaway because. This was just the most incredible experience. And it’s crazy because if you would have told me two years ago that I’d be hosting like four retreats a year and now two live events, I would have laughed. Like I would have been like, there’s no way. I’m introverted. I don’t know how to do that. I’ve never done that before. Like there’s no way. And it’s just evolved into me realizing that number one, this is a gift of mine. It’s not about the live of event event. It’s a gift of mine to curate an experience. That’s my superpower. I can curate experiences that help people see and create change within themselves on their own.
I’m not talking at people. I’m not just teaching workshops where you’re taking notes and that’s it. That’s why I had this event in an Airbnb. I didn’t want it in a conference room. i People didn’t bring their laptops like we were present and the change and the growth happened from within them. I just curated the environment and the experience. I asked the questions. I created the workshops. I created the activities. I brought in the practitioners. And every piece of it was intentional. The order of it, the amount of breaks that we had, it was all intentional. That is a superpower of mine, and I love it. And the the byproduct result of this has been insane. Like from this event, I have, in the last week, generated over $50,000 in sales post the event for my business. Because people came to this event and wanted more. My mastermind, other offers that we have. But the event that I created, it was not about me selling more things. It happened as a byproduct. And so my takeaway is this. Find your gift.
Find your superpower. Find the thing that lights you up that you would do it every day. It gives you so much. energy and purpose and impact. For me, it’s this. Like as soon as the event was over, I was like, find me 30 more entrepreneurs and let’s do it again. Because I just want to change their lives. I just want to have this impact. I want everybody to have this experience. And the money to me is like, great. I’m super excited. But it wasn’t for that reason. Like that was the byproduct. That’s when you know, you’re on the right path is when you are lit up by the impact that what you’re creating has, and then money’s at easy, easy byproduct. I mean, it blew me away out of my expectations of what I thought was going to happen. So my takeaway is this. Focus on your gift, your superpower, and the impact you want to have. Create an incredible product, an incredible experience. Go all in on the emotional connection with your ideal customer.
and the impact and transformation that you want to create. And the rest is going to follow because the the people talking about it, sharing about it. Like when you change someone’s life, they tell everybody and they never forget. And all of these people at the event, like I am not just saying this to like toot my own horn or whatever. I changed all of their lives.
And I didn’t even do it. Like it was so much bigger than me. I curated the experience and I had support. I mean, it is not all me and my team, the facilitators that I brought in, but me choosing to step into a gift and passion that I have resulted in the environment for people to show up and do the work and change their own lives. And that’s the most rewarding thing I could ever do. and And the outcome of this is yes, a lot of revenue, a lot of growth, and a lot of impact. And so if you focus on that impact and you focus on an incredible product and experience, the rest is going to follow. I promise it becomes a byproduct. Selling is a byproduct product of serving. And the more you serve and the more you dial in the emotional connection and the messaging around how you serve, the more money you make. It’s that it’s that simple. It really is. So, we will be announcing the ticket sales. for the next Embodied Marketing Live and I have a feeling we are going to sell out very fast because literally like majority of the attendees are going to come back and we’re capping it.
So if you go to embodiedmarketing.com/live right now the page is a waitlist. We will be only telling people for now on the waitlist and the past attendees about the new tickets and we’re going to give a really good deal if you lock in your ticket this far ahead. So the next one will be in July. That will be the last one that we host for the year. And I promise you this, I’ll change your life. I’ll change your life. I’ll grow your business and it will be the best investment you made this entire year in yourself. And it’s not even that expensive of an investment. It is a very affordable event and I cannot wait to see the next group who joins. All right, everybody. Thank you so much for tuning in. I will talk to you on Thursday.
