Where have you told yourself a story that somebody who is more successful than you is doing X, Y, Z, and therefore you need to be more like that and less like you. We look at other people that are successful above us, and we say we should be more like them.
And what if we didn’t do that? What if we said, how can I be more like me, but still get to the next level playing my own game? You make the rules. And there is not one way to get anywhere. The more authentic we can be and who we naturally are, the easier growth is, the easier life is.
Embodied CEOs don’t chase trends. They pave the way they lead from within. Move by purpose, unshaken by noise. When you are the source, you do not need permission.
Hello everybody. Welcome back to the podcast. I hope you guys are having an amazing week. April is always such a crazy month for me. Two of my kids, my oldest two kids are two days apart. Two years and two days. And so it’s like Christmas because it’s like birthday week. We have one birthday a day, the next birthday.
And then of course they want separate birthday parties. So we have usually two weekends that have birthday parties and then my parents like to come visit. So my dad’s coming, then my mom’s coming. super grateful. It’s going to be amazing, month, but it feels like this month’s just gonna be. Flying by.
So I am embracing all of that and embracing all the kids’ sports and just everything happening in my life. But I am super grateful and in the new space can’t express enough how grateful I am for the new space. The energy here is just so good. I’m gonna be probably offering and doing some like in-person VIP things.
I would love to have people like fly out and do a full VIP day in the space on their business, their marketing. That’s a vision of mine. All right. Today I want to talk about just a few things that have been top of mind for me and. I guess our strategies or tactics for you to really focus on in your business and just how you carry yourself in your life.
So the first one is something like a conversation that I’ve been having a lot with entrepreneurs around how important the discipline. To have stillness is going to be over the next, several years. And I did talk about this in a recent podcast episode as it relates to ai, but I had this experience this last week that was alarming, and made me really pause and go, wow, we need to be careful of this with people and like having discernment.
And so I’ll tell you like slightly about the experience, but. I have this prediction and I think it’s already happening that people are going to become delusional in, let me explain. Not in a good way, right? There’s like good delusion of like delusion to what’s possible, right? I can dream this big dream.
It doesn’t make any sense. That’s good. Delusion. I’m talking about delusion to a reality that they think is true because they’ve talked to ai. Okay. Now if you’ve ever used chat as your therapist, which I have, okay, I have. So I know this because I’ve done it right and I’ve asked it questions and at first I was like, this is amazing.
I don’t need a therapist anymore. This is such a great coach. But over time, what I’ve realized, and now I’ve seen like articles come out of this and studies, and now you can see it, it’s so obvious when you use it, but. It agrees with you. Even when you tell it not to agree with you, it agrees with you in a way that sends you down this like spiral of believing your own delusion to reality, right?
And when you talk with a human and you are speaking about a very nuanced situation, they’re able to take into consideration a lot of different things. And maybe you’re looking at something and going, it’s either this or it’s this. And they’re like, yeah, but what about these other things? AI can’t do that.
AI is only taking that little bit that you gave it, and it doesn’t have all of that context and that just like nuance. And so the situation happened where somebody who I know really well started behaving strangely and started like. Sending these messages about what she needed to do the messages were so obviously written by chat, like it’s very obvious. But more than that I was like, this came from a conversation with chat that has made her think this is a good idea and validated it. And I’m like, oh my gosh, we are gonna go into a time. Where people are like so sure of this delusioned reality, that they’re right about something that they’re going to, it’s gonna impact relationships.
And I’m like, oh my gosh. Because I think I saw this funny comment on a real. That was joking about this with chat. It was like, chat, I hit 10 cars, what should I do? And chat was like, it’s okay. Like a silly response. Obviously it’s fake, but it was like, it’s okay. It, the it, the fact that you’re sharing this is the good thing, right?
And then all these people commented and they were like, and one of ’em was like, if I keep talking to Chad, I’m gonna end up with no friends, divorced and unemployed because it’s gonna validate me and convince me to leave everybody. And it really does do that. It validates the victim mentality to an extent when you complain to it or you even share.
And I just had this realization this week, I’m like, oh my gosh. A lot of people use chat in this way. I have even used it in this way. I do think Claude is probably a little bit better, but I still think AI is gonna do this. And it made me realize how important it is going to be to have discipline, to be able to have the discernment, but also think for yourself, because how easy is it becoming the moment that you have a thought to go?
Let me go bring that to Chad. Let me go bring this to ai. Let me only do this much of the thinking and then let me bring it. And I think that as creators and founders, it’s going to be really important that you have you figure out what is the environment and the habits and the rituals and the routines that’s gonna keep the discipline for that connection back to yourself.
Because what does that ultimately do It. It disconnects you from yourself when you are turning immediately to noise, whether that’s AI or even social media to tell you how to think, to tell you what is right? Like you, we don’t, I think, fully grasp the level that like our algorithm even has an impact on us and can form and shape this like echo chamber of reinforcing.
This reality. And I think it’s so important to be challenged in that and understand the nuances of it. If you don’t intentionally do that, you are gonna end up disconnected. And so a prediction I have is over the next few years, like the creators, the CEOs, the entrepreneurs who have the discipline, and I say discipline ’cause it’s gonna take discipline because it’s going to be the harder route, right? It’s like it takes more mental capacity, it’s a lot easier to have AI Think for me, it’s a lot easier to think one or two thoughts and then bring the rest to AI and let it tell me how great my idea is.
And it’s it’s gonna take the discipline to not immediately turn to that and use it as a crutch. I don’t wanna turn this into AI ’cause I did a podcast on ai. This is more about the importance of stillness. This is the importance of what environment, what routines, what reminders, what rituals, what habits do you need in place in your life and your business to have that stillness.
To have that connection back to yourself because my prediction is that we’re gonna see this really go through the roof, which is sad of people experiencing this like validated victimhood and delusion. And they spiral down this and it’s gonna impact relationships, and it’s gonna impact their lives. And unless they pull themselves out of and go, what am I doing?
Let me question this a little bit more. But the thing is, I think a lot of people today, not so much entrepreneurs, but a lot of people in this society, like lack critical thinking. So it’s gonna be a thing, what do you need to do? Because my prediction is that the level of disconnection from ourselves.
Which I believe is connection back to whatever you believe in source God like. I think it’s within us. The level of separation and disconnection from that is going to continue to climb, and that is such a dangerous, challenging. Hard thing to have because I also believe that at the root of everything, your business, your life, your relationships, like your happiness, all of it, it comes back to how strong is that connection.
I think that when I look at entrepreneurs who are really struggling and they’re in this comparing themselves to others, and they’re not successful and they’re frustrated and they’re, in one of those places. I think a lot of times it stems from the disconnection even when your business isn’t working.
Like when I see businesses that are not getting sales, that are not working, things are not converting, there’s not that momentum. Usually it’s because they’re disconnected. Yeah, they’re disconnected from their dreams. They’re disconnected from their purpose. They’re disconnected from what it is they’re trying to build.
They’re disconnected from their own voice. They’re disconnected from their truth, and so therefore their messaging and their strategy and everything is impacted. This is why I believe the business owner is the magic of the business, and everything should be amplifying that. Not that everything they do is right.
It’s what is that unique blueprint of the founder that creator, we are creators. What is that blueprint and how do we amplify this into a business? That disconnection is very dangerous, and that’s why my retreats, my events, my content, like I have a saying, you already know, tattooed on my back. The truth is within this is the most powerful thing you can understand and really embody, but it’s gonna take discipline because everything in our external world.
Is trying to disconnect us. We could even get into, that’s the point of the matrix, but we won’t go there. So that’s the first thing is like actually seriously sitting with and asking yourself, what is the discipline? You’re gonna have to have this connection because I promise you, like it’s probably my biggest secret weapon is stillness and connection because it gives me the clarity, it gives me the confidence it gives me.
The purpose, it gives me everything I need in ingredients to then take it into action. That equals success, align success, and like creating the life of your dreams. So that’s the first thing I wanna talk about. The next thing I wanna talk about, it is a great segue into this. I had a realization the other day because of social media and because of the way, We constantly see everybody’s life, how much we compare and tell ourselves like, we should be like X, Y, Z. And so lemme explain. I saw a group of, Really powerhouse women doing a podcast together. And I know some of them, not like good friends, but mutual friends with some of them. And of course my immediate thought was like, man, I wanted to be invited.
And then that thought was followed by, I’m not really good at friendships and connections. I’ve always told myself that, and that I need to do a better job at networking and. Being in the elite, group or whatever. And then I started reflecting on my experience back in school.
Like I have always felt I was just outside the cool club. I’ve always felt like that. Like I was just outside of the cool group of people because I always felt like the cool club was surface. Like the relationships, it was always like we’re not being real. Since I was young, I felt like this, like I just couldn’t do it.
I couldn’t play the game. And I’m not saying that this group at all is like that. However, I do think even in business, even in adult relationships and entrepreneurs, like there is this usually like elite crowd that. They lack depth in their relationships because it’s a show. It’s like we’re all trying to put on a show to be cool enough to be in the cool club, and if we let them let the veil down and we like, let the truth show, then we’re not gonna be in the club.
And may maybe there’s a part of that. That’s my belief. I’m, I think that it might be, but I think, anyways, through this thought process, I was first of all starting with being critical to myself of you’re not good at that. You’re, that’s why you’re not invited because you don’t. You don’t go and network and you don’t go and connect, which is partly true because I don’t prioritize it.
It’s probably the lowest thing on my priorities is actually like friendships right now. I have good friends and I have friends where like we pick it up, we could not talk to each other for two months and we pick it right back up. Those are my friendships and also since I’ve been young, I’ve been somebody who has a small circle of very deep relationships.
Very deep, and when you are in my small circle, I will do anything for you. Like I’m very loyal, but I keep the circle small because I don’t like surface level because I don’t like small talk because I can’t put on, it’s exhausting to me to put on a show. It’s exhausting to me to not be like fully authentic and real.
I can’t do it. And so I’ve always been like this. So then I started thinking like. Maybe I should stop thinking about like, how can I be like other people and just embrace that this is a strength of mine and that’s who I am. And I caught myself telling myself the story of can you get to eight figures and not play that game?
And not play the, let’s be the elite. And then I was like, I think that’s what people like about me. I’m like, I think people like how real I am. I think people like, and I’ve had comments of you were the same person at the gym as you are in your podcast studio, as you are in a webinar, as you are as a friend, as you are like anywhere.
And that is something that, that comes natural to me. So my point in the in, in all of this is, I think oftentimes we look at our quote weaknesses. And we tell ourselves we have to change. Now if that weakness is misaligned to the person that you wanna become, that would be one thing. If I was like, I want to have a lot of friendships that would be in alignment with me, I want to prioritize this.
That is in this season of my life, something I wanna create that would be different right than I can lean into that weakness and that discomfort and actually take actions. But if I look at it and say. Honestly, I’m pretty happy. Like I love the friendships I have. I love the relationships I have.
I don’t like going to big business events and schmoozing, like I just, it’s not me. It will never be something I want. And then it’s will you make the fricking rules? So why are you saying that’s a rule? So when you, when we oftentimes we look at other people. And I find myself doing this. We look at other people and then we say, here’s what they’re doing that I’m not and I should be doing this.
But that thing goes against who you naturally are, and I truly believe that the more you can align yourself with who you naturally are, the easier it is, right? ’cause there’s less resistance. Again, there’s a balance of you have to do things that make you uncomfortable. You have to step outside your comfort zone.
You should definitely do new things, all of that. But still within the path of how do I align my actions so that it’s easy for me to do because it’s who I naturally am. I’m not trying to be somebody else. And for me that’s okay, I will just not go to schmoozey business events like, and I’m not gonna schmooze with.
High level entrepreneurs that are being fake. I don’t care if it makes any more money. I’m not doing it. I don’t wanna do it. That’s not in alignment with me. And so then it made me realize how much we look at other business owners. We look at other people that are successful and above us, and we say we should be more like them.
And what if we didn’t do that? What if we said, how can I be more like me, but still get to the next level playing my own game? You make the rules. And there is not one way to get anywhere. So that’s a piece that I want to challenge you with today is like, where have you told yourself a story that somebody who is more successful than you is doing X, Y, Z, and therefore you need to be more like that and less like you Again, There is still the need to do things that take you out of your comfort zone, but how can you do those while still leveraging what either lights you up or comes natural to you or is who you are? Like the more authentic we can be and who we naturally are, the easier growth is, the easier life is. And so the more you know, when I look at my entrepreneur journey and I look at what has created me the most success.
It’s when I’ve leaned into who I am and I’ve not made any of that wrong or any of the things I’m not wrong and I’ve just leaned into who I naturally am, unapologetically and gone, there’s no right way to do this. There’s no wrong way to do this. There’s no right way to do this. And some people, I’m sure it fuels them to have these big groups of like high status friendship groups.
And I do think, sure, there’s probably an element of the higher you get, the higher your net worth and network is. Sure. But for me, I never would wanna be there if I lost the deep relationships that I have. I cannot do the schmoozing, I cannot do the, let’s wear a mask and talk about how great we are and make sure everyone knows how great we are.
I can’t do it. Like I gotta be, I gotta be me, I gotta be real. And to me that’s what’s fulfilling. So thinking about like, where have you watched somebody on social media? Because that’s where it usually starts, right? Contact. I think especially as women, we do this like comparison thing where have you seen somebody on social media and subconsciously gone down that thought loop of, I’m not doing this, I’m not good enough, I’m not like them.
I should do this more. And just challenge that and maybe there’s room in there for me to go. Yeah, maybe I should prioritize. Connection, more real connection. Sure. Maybe in this season of my life, I don’t feel that like I, my time and energy is very much taken up between my kids and my training and my business.
I don’t really have a lot more capacity, and I’m okay with that in this season. Now, as my kids get older, that could change and that’s okay. I think it’s super freeing to just go there is no right or wrong way to do this. S and our brains love to convince us that our brains love to go.
You’re doing it wrong because of this, and right because of this. So those are my inner dialogue thoughts this week. The delusion of ai, how important the discipline is of stillness. I’m serious. And that connection to yourself like that is going to be and is a superpower. So I cannot emphasize it enough.
It’s why. A big intention for me in my live events is that, and people don’t come to the event because they think that’s what they want. They come because they think they want something else. That’s what they get, and they realize that’s what they just needed all along. Remove the noise, remove all of that, connect back to myself, and then everything becomes easier and more clear, which by the way, we do have the next embodied marketing live happening at the end of July 30th.
To August 1st in Austin embodied marketing.com/live. We’ve got early bird tickets live, and I would love for all of you guys to be a part of one of my in-person experiences. It is my favorite thing that I do and I am so excited. This will be the fourth one. Everyone just gets better and it’s just such a beautiful blend of marketing strategy and business tactics with connection.
And you will leave the event. Way more clear with your business and a different person in the best way. So anyways, that’s always a big theme because I think that all the marketing strategy and the business growth comes after that. So that’s the first part. And then where have you told yourself that you have to be more like somebody else, even if it’s a coach?
I think yes, pull inspiring things from people, but don’t deviate from who you naturally are. Which goes back to the first thing I said, but we look for people and mentors and then I think we sometimes convince ourselves we need to be like them. And sure, it’s great to get inspiration and if it’s aligned with you, great, a routine they have or a thing they’re doing, like if it, it does inspire you, but you don’t have to be like somebody else to be successful.
You get to be you. And it sounds so cheesy, but I find that I need that reminder because sometimes I forget. All right everybody. Thank you so much for tuning in. Have a beautiful rest of your week and I’ll talk to you guys soon.
